This Protocol explains how the Inquiry requests, receives and manages witness statements as part of its evidence‑gathering process.
The Chair decides who will be asked to provide evidence, whether in writing, orally, or both. Where evidence is requested, individuals will receive a formal request (known as a Rule 9 Request) setting out the topics to be covered and the timeframe for response.
