The Inquiry has issued a formal notice requiring individuals and organisations who hold potentially relevant information to preserve it and not destroy, conceal, or alter it.
In addition to publishing this notice, the Inquiry is writing directly to individuals and organisations to draw attention to the requirement to preserve potentially relevant documents and information.
Destroying or altering evidence is a criminal offence under section 35 of the Inquiries Act 2005.
